Dan Meece

Trail Experience Team Leader

As Trail Experience Team Leader, Dan Meece oversees a team of skilled trail workers who maintain the 47+ miles of natural and paved trails throughout all four parks. Dan first joined The Parklands team in 2015 to build natural surface trails in Turkey Run Park, prior to its opening, as well as to help maintain existing trails in Beckley Creek and Pope Lick parks. Previous trail building experience with Louisville Mega Cavern made him a perfect fit for the team, and came in handy while building singletrack trail in Turkey Run and Broad Run Parks, including Wild Hyacinth and Boone Bottoms trails. In the fall of 2016, Dan was promoted to Bike Park Technician as the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) constructed the Silo Center Bike Park. In this role, Dan supported construction of the bike park, and, following its opening, helped oversee maintenance and operations of all bike park trails and features. He was promoted to Trail Experience Team Leader in May of 2018. Off the job, Dan enjoys riding the bike park trails first hand, as well as singletrack throughout Louisville.
