Parking The Strand Trailhead

The Strand trailhead provides improved accessibility to a beautiful, nearly 5-mile stretch of the Louisville Loop and Floyds Fork that was once only accessible by foot, bike or boat.

The Strand trailhead features two restrooms, a water fountain, an area for visitors to rest, a parking lot that accommodates 27 vehicles, and interpretive information to help guide and enhance the visitor experience. This location makes for a great pit stop along a run or bike ride through The Parklands. Visitors are encouraged to use the trailhead as a starting point for outdoor adventures, exploring areas such as The Palisades, Walnut Grove or Mussel Bend.

While not a park itself, The Strand is an important, narrow stretch of land connecting both Pope Lick Park and Turkey Run Park by way of the paved Louisville Loop pathway. The Strand allows for 19 miles of continuous, fully-accessible pathway through the entire Parklands system. The trailhead is located off Echo Trail at 6510 Echo Trail, Louisville, KY 40299.
