On Tuesday, November 5, the Humana Grand Allee Donor Fountain, as well as drinking fountains throughout The Parklands four parks, will be turned off and winterized for the season. This winterization process helps to keep freezing temperatures from damaging water lines and park infrastructure.
Fountains will be turned back on in the spring when the threat of freezing temperatures has ended. Until then, water is available in the PNC Achievement Center for Education and Interpretation in Beckley Creek Park during the standard hours of operation.
Please keep this in mind when planning your next visit! Trailhead restrooms and portable toilets remain open year-round.
Being a donor-supported public park means we rely on donations, not tax dollars, for annual operations each year. Because of your generosity, we are able to maintain, program, and further develop this extraordinary public space without charging an entry fee. Together we work to enhance quality of life and help our community and economy grow in ways that are healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable for people of all ages.
