Louisville, Ky. (May 26, 2015)— On June 7th, The Parklands of Floyds Fork will host the first in a series of Sunday Farmers Markets in Beckley Creek Park. The farmer’s markets will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Festival Promenade of the Humana Grand Allee section of Beckley Creek Park, accessible from Shelbyville and Taylorsville Roads.

The June farmer’s market will be the first in a series of eight markets in The Parklands this year, occurring on the first and third Sunday of the month from June to September, each running from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. For a full schedule and directions to the area, visit

Thus far, participating farmers include On Tapp Dairy, specializing in selling meats such as chicken, veal, pork and beef, as well as eggs. For those interested in buying fresh produce, Nation Family Produce and Goodin Farms will be on hand with seasonal vegetables. Opal Grove will be selling candles and body products with nature-inspired botanical fragrances, and honey, annual plants, herbs and flowers will also be available.

Hot 2 Trot Horseradish sauce will be sampling their products and Comfy Cow will be selling scoops of ice cream for visitors to enjoy while browsing the market. A Parklands exclusive flavor, “The Bees Knees” will be on-sale at these and other Parklands events that Comfy Cow participates in throughout the summer. Live bluegrass music will be playing throughout the afternoon to entertain visitors.

21st Century Parks is organizing the markets in response to visitors who have requested this program since the park’s inception. The Festival Promenade in the Humana Grand Allee was chosen as the setting for the market, as it was originally built in order to host events such as farmer’s markets and art fairs. Last year The Parklands hosted one farmer’s market in this area.

“We’re excited to bring another farmer’s market to the east end,” said Scott Martin, Parks Director, “Agriculture is part of The Parklands experience and farmer’s markets offer us a great way to showcase great Kentucky products and farms.”

There is no fee or registration for entry into the markets. More information can be found at Vendors interested in participating in the markets should contact Allison Greenwell at, or 502-584-0350.
