21st Century Parks
Louisville, Ky. (October 23, 2015). The Parklands of Floyds Fork is excited to announce a new paddle-sports rental partnership with Blue Moon Canoe & Kayak of Kentucky. Beginning Saturday, October 24, 2015, Blue Moon will offer Saturday and Sunday canoe and kayak rentals on Floyds Fork in The Parklands. Blue Moon offers customers their choice of solo and tandem boats as well as full and half day prices to accommodate a short float along the Fork, or a day-long excursion.
The announcement follows the recent opening of the Seaton Valley Paddling Access in Turkey Run Park—the third of four parks to open in The Parklands of Floyds Fork, a donor-supported public park. The new paddling access in Turkey Run Park will temporarily serve as the final take-out for paddlers, extending the Floyds Fork paddling route to 13 miles from the North Beckley Paddling Access in Beckley Creek Park to Seaton Valley in Turkey Run Park.
“Paddling the Fork is one of the most special outdoor activities in Louisville,” said Park Director Scott Martin. “We're excited to welcome Blue Moon Canoe into The Parklands and look forward to seeing families and groups on the water.”
