ALERT: Obstruction in Floyds Fork North of Fisherville Paddling Access

UPDATE 7/6/15: Strainer upstream from the Fisherville Paddling Access in Pope Lick Park has been washed away.

On June 22, 2015, The Parklands of Floyds Fork was informed of a downed tree in Floyds Fork upstream from the Fisherville Paddling Access in Pope Lick Park (approx. 14520 Old Taylorsville Road). Until the obstruction has been removed, paddlers entering Floyds Fork in Beckley Creek Park at the North Beckley Paddling Access or at the Creekside Paddling Access are advised to use caution when approaching the Fisherville Paddling Access. To avoid the obstruction, paddlers can enter Floyds Fork at the North Beckley Paddling Access and exit at Creekside Paddling Access (2 miles/1 hour) or enter at Fisherville Paddling Access and exit at Cane Run Primitive Paddling Access (4.3 miles / 2.5 hours). Trip time is based on 50-100 cfs.
