21st Century Parks Promotes and Hires Team Members to Support Park Expansion

Louisville, Ky. (June 5, 2015)—21st Century Parks Inc., the nonprofit organization responsible for the construction and management of Louisville’s newest public park system The Parklands of Floyds Fork, is pleased to announce two promotions and a new hire to support the rapidly growing parks. Laura Mattingly was promoted to Development Coordinator and Evan Patrick promoted to Natural Areas Team Leader. Anna Rosales-Crone has been hired as Communications Coordinator.

“21st Century Parks, Inc. is pleased to announce these changes and additions to our leadership team,” said Scott Martin, Parks Director. “We are committed to bringing the best and brightest to The Parklands project.  Laura, Evan and Anna will help drive the park forward as we seek to build and operate one of the nation’s best urban park systems.”

Laura Mattingly, Development Coordinator

Laura Mattingly joined the 21st Century Parks team in 2013 as the Accounting Coordinator. In May 2015, she was promoted to the Development Coordinator position, where she will support current and prospective members, assist in the coordination of annual fundraising events including Field & Fork and Sports Luncheon, oversee the membership event series, and maintain the donation acknowledgement process.

Mattingly holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Kentucky and an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University.

Evan Patrick, Natural Areas Team Leader

Evan began his career with The Parklands in 2013 as a park attendant and assistant for Natural Areas projects. In 2014 he joined the Natural Areas team as a technician and in the spring of 2015 was promoted to Natural Areas Team Leader. While working he spends his time promoting healthy habitats for the plants and animals that live in the park.

Patrick was born in Morehead, Kentucky near the Daniel Boone National Forest, where his appreciation for nature, conservation and stewardship was cultivated. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Louisville, where he earned a degree in anthropology.

Anna Rosales-Crone, Communications Coordinator

Anna Rosales-Crone was hired as Communications Coordinator in May of 2015 to help build park awareness through public relations and marketing. She will also support management of The Parklands brand, website and social media. She brings with her five years of experience as a Communications Associate at the American Red Cross Louisville Area Chapter where she grew the chapter’s digital and social media presence while assisting with public relations and marketing efforts throughout 55 counties in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. She also provided public affairs guidance during major disaster operations.

Rosales-Crone has a BA in Communications from the University of Evansville.

The Parklands of Floyds Fork is a nearly 4,000-acre donor-supported public park system under development within the Floyds Fork watershed in eastern and southeastern Louisville. One of the largest and most ambitious metropolitan park projects in the nation, The Parklands is a dream realized by 21st Century Parks Inc., a nonprofit organization established to create and preserve new unexcelled parks that serve as city-shaping infrastructure. The Parklands is now 35% open, currently operating and programming the first two of four parks in Eastern Jefferson County.
