Parklands Members are invited to Park Roots, a special speaker series, featuring lectures from community figures who have a connection to preserving, building, maintaining and supporting our parklands. This new lecture series, similar to a TED Talk, will highlight various subjects relating to The Parklands, nature, community, and the rich history of the Kentucky landscape.

The Park Roots: Birding for Beginners program will take place starting at the PNC Acheivement Center at 8 a.m. with a short presentation and Q&A on beginner birding with Beckham Bird Club's Andrew Melnykovych. After the presentation, we will head out to the Grand Humana Allee to put those newly-learned skills to practice.

About Beckham Bird Club

The Beckham Bird Club, Inc. is a nonprofit organization for men, women and children interested in birds, ecology, and nature. Beckham Bird Club members are people who like birds, enjoy watching them, and want to keep in touch with others who also enjoy the sport. Birding can be as relaxing or strenuous as desired. Some prefer backyard birding – others prefer field trips. Either way, birding provides the enthusiast with excitement, the chance to learn, and fun.
