Calling all Junior Explorers! Winter can sometimes be cloudy and cold, but that doesn’t mean outdoor fun has to end! On Saturday, February 1, 2020, Junior Explorers (kids 12 and under) and their families are invited to join Parklands staff and Second Chances Wildlife for a Groundhog Day celebration in Beckley Creek Park.
Famous for their hibernation practices, groundhogs dwell near forest edges and meadows, making The Parklands a perfect home for this sleepy rodent. Join us for crafts, games, hikes to hunt for burrows, and even a real life visit from Major the Groundhog thanks to Second Chances Wildlife!
Festivities are from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at PNC Achievement Center in Beckley Creek Park, 1411 Beckley Creek Parkway.
Registration is encouraged. Register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/88854681745.
