Parklands Explorer: Pathways to Wellness, presented by Trilogy Health Services and The Bufford Family Foundation.
In 2018, Parklands Explorers embarked on a pathway to wellness to better mind, body, and spirit. In 2019, the free program at The Parklands of Floyds Fork will continue its tradition of adventure and health by offering monthly wellness activities, such as yoga, paired with meditative, mindful hikes. Community members of all ages are invited to join Parklands Interpretive Rangers on the second Saturday of each month, starting March through October, to embark on a pathway to wellness for body and mind.
The next Parklands Explorer program is Saturday, June 8 in Turkey Run Park. Tai Chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. The ancient practice of Qigong and Tai Chi has been shown to reduce stress and improve balance and health in people of all ages. Join us for the next Parklands Explorer program on Saturday, June 8 with Tai Chi taught by Grandmaster Ding for what has been called "Moving Meditation", and see what this gentle yet effective exercise can do for you! The group will meet at 9:00am at the Silo Center in Turkey Run Park. Stick around after Tai Chi for a meditative forest walk on Paw Paw trail. The Paw Paw Trail is a dirt surface trail of medium difficulty. Plan to cover roughly 4 miles round trip for this forest-bathing hike. Please dress for the weather, wear studying walking shoes, and bring a bottle of water.
