For the 2018 Fall Membership Drive, we decided to switch things up a bit for our new and renewing Members. Last year, The Parklands gifted Members at the Parklands Partner level ($100 and up) a “Fish of Floyds Fork” bandana. This year, we created a bandana that gives our Members an interpretive glance into the world of fungi that can be used to identify mushrooms on their exploration in The Parklands. A bandana is more than just a piece of fabric. It can be a statement piece, an art piece, or even a survival tool (with proper training, of course). Read below for various tricks on how you can sport and use our newest Membership bandana.
Give this style of bandana a go, whether it’s for aesthetics or to wipe your sweat away after a long run in the park. Either way, you’ll be sure to resemble the western cowboys of the mountains. Fold into a triangle and tie the ends at the nape of your neck.
Some say this is the trendiest of bandana styles. Simply fold your bandana in half, then fold sections inward to lengthen the bandana for the perfect knot.
Great for a long ride or run on the Louisville Loop. Add water to keep yourself cool during the hotter months. Follow directions for “The Knot” and tie on your head.

As the Parklands Fund Coordinator, Taylor Freimund works with the Development team to coordinate annual fundraising and development events and activities, as well as overseeing fundraising marketing and donor communications. Prior to joining The Parklands team in the summer of 2017 as a Communications Specialist, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at UPS throughout college while receiving a Bachelor of Science in Communication. She focused her marketing and strategic communication efforts on non-profit work at Fund for the Arts, The KY Humane Society and The Cincinnati Art Museum. In her free time, she enjoys drinking coffee and hanging out with her dogs.
