Brief Description of Your Role:

My main job is to oversee operations and facilities within the northern half of The Parklands—Beckley Creek Park, Pope Lick Park and part of The Strand. My day starts with my team responding to any issues that arise. This consists of any and all repairs. From changing light bulbs and coordinating vendors to managing new, major projects, there is always something to do. One of my biggest responsibilities as team leader is to make sure everyone is upholding the high standard that makes The Parklands what it is—safe, clean, fun and beautiful.

What are you most proud of in your work?

What I am most proud of in my work is building relationships with Park visitors and keeping the park running smoothly.

What inspires you to come to work every day?

What inspires me to come to work every day is that each day offers something different. I am proud to be part of such an awesome project that I can share with the community—young and old alike.

Which trail would you recommend to visitors and why?

I always enjoyed the Valley of the Giants trail. It’s short, but the majestic Sycamores are awe-inspiring, towering over Floyds Fork. The trail is family-friendly and can accommodate all ages.

Which section or “thing to do” at The Parklands is your favorite and why?

My favorite thing to do is to sit back and enjoy the wildlife here at The Parklands. Especially our resident Bald Eagle.

In your opinion, what makes The Parklands worthy of support?

We at the Parklands hold a very high standard. Our team works passionately to keep it a truly amazing place for you. We value member support to help us maintain an amazing standard for all to enjoy.

How would you say “Thank You” to someone who donates to The Parklands, or who is thinking about donating?

When you support The Parklands, come out and listen to the birds, or watch the grasses and the trees swaying in the wind, or the ducks splashing in the wetlands. Watch families take pictures along the trails, or play in our wonderful spraygrounds. It is because of your support that this happens. This is how we say, Thank You!
