Looking for a place to host a children’s birthday party? Ask about rental of one of our state-of-the-art classrooms in the PNC Achievement Center, where you’re only steps away from getting wet in our Playground and Sprayground, a family favorite. And, if you’re up for an adventure, we make your child’s party truly unique by including a hike or creek play experience with one of our Interpretive Rangers!
Parties at The Parklands Include:

Any organization using the park that charges a fee for participation in their activity by the participants must get an annually approved commercial use permit. This permit allows The Parklands to partner with groups in a controlled manner ensuring that commercial activity organizations assist in the support of the resources that they use within the park for business purposes. This policy does not distinguish between for-profit and non-profit commercial use.
Large Group Use
Large groups (any group or activity over 50 participants) wishing to use The Parklands for activities in unreserved areas must submit a group use permit application. This permit allows The Parklands to prepare for, and balance, the needs of large groups with those of drop-in individual, small group, and family visitors. This also will allow The Parklands to ensure that the carrying capacity of particular park amenities is not overwhelmed due to popularity. This permit does not apply for reservable amenities such as the PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP Pavilion, Gheens Foundation Lodge, or other amenity in the current reservation system. Larger groups,
or requests for busy days may require the activity to be slotted into the existing special events policy and process.

Permit applications should be submitted no less than one week prior to the desired event date. Permits may not guarantee space availability. Groups failing to secure a permit may be asked to leave the park. Parklands staff stand ready to help groups through this new process, and believe it will make for a better park experience for event hosts, participants, and others enjoying our parks.
The PNC Achievement Center for Education and Interpretation, located at 1411 Beckley Creek Parkway, serves as both the Welcome Center and the home of The Parklands Outdoor Classroom. The classrooms are also available for rent when not in use by Parklands
The Gheens Foundation Lodge, located at 1421 Beckley Creek Parkway, is an indoor/outdoor event space designed to accommodate a variety of event sizes and functions — perfect for weddings, reunions and board meetings.
Enjoy the outdoors under the security of this picnic pavilion located in Creekside Center at Beckley Creek Park. The Pavilion is available for rent to host events such as birthday parties, graduation parties, family reunions and more!

Feast in the open air! You can find quiet places to picnic at the Lake Overlook,Oak Picnic Grove or Flats Picnic Grove. Or rent the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Pavilion for a large picnic gathering.
Built through the efforts of Councilmen Stuart Benson and the Jeffersontown Youth Soccer Association, The John Floyd Community Building, in Pope Lick Park near Taylorsville Road, is a great rental space for medium-sized gatherings.
Looking for a place to enjoy a meal outdoors? There is a picnic area at the park entrance, near the Pope Lick Trailhead and parking lot off Taylorsville Rd. Or you will find a small gazebo near the playground.
A former seven-generation dairy farm will be retrofitted as a community gathering and event space thanks to a contribution by Brown-Forman. Opening 2015.
Cliffside Center will be a community park similar in design to Creekside Center in Beckley Creek Park. Opening 2015.
