21st Century Parks, Inc. will open the final two miles of Louisville Loop Trail within The Parklands of Floyds Fork on Friday, September 30. Completion of this two-mile stretch in The Strand will connect The Parklands four parks—Beckley Creek, Pope Lick, Turkey Run and Broad Run—offering visitors 19 miles of continuous, multi-recreational trail for walking, running, biking and exploring.
Once open, The Strand will be accessible from Pope Lick Park in the north and Turkey Run Park in the south.
This highly anticipated event will be honored with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on September 30 near John Floyd Community Building in Pope Lick Park. Gates at either end of this new section of The Strand will be removed at approximately 11:15 a.m.
Guests are welcome to join us for a bike ride through The Strand directly following the ceremony (12 miles roundtrip). Don't have your own? No problem! Our partner Blue Moon Bicycles will be at John Floyd Fields for the festivities, and will station their bike fleet in Pope Lick Park throughout opening weekend! Pricing & Contact Info
